Organized annually by the UCTEA Chamber of Interior Architects, the 9th edition of the Interior Architecture Students Project Competition, im2026, is hosted this year by Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture. The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2026.

The textile design exhibition titled ‘Ataların Sesleri’ (Voices of the Ancestors), organized in collaboration between Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and the Embassy of Ireland, opened to art enthusiasts at the Izmir Chamber of Commerce. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) student Cafer Türkel and Industrial Design alumna Eylül Aygün have achieved significant recognition at the prestigious Crescents and Stars for Packaging Awards (Ambalaj Ay Yıldızları). The duo was honored in the “Food and Beverage Packaging” category with their creative and interactive project, "Makarna Canavarı" (Pasta Monster).

Oğuz Ülgen Tunç, a 2026 graduate of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Visual Communication Design, conveyed the ecological transformation caused by climate change and environmental pollution in the oceans through an interactive art (installation) work titled ‘Anoxia’, which turns the viewer into part of the narrative.

DeNature presents social awareness posters created by 31 students of the VCD 410 Advertising Photography course conducted by Lecturer Ersan Çeliktaş in the Department of Visual Communication Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics.

Students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design have repurposed the Mavi Kortejo (Blue Cortijo) in Basmane, one of the city's most significant cultural heritage sites, into a residential or communal living space tailored for disadvantaged groups. 

Showcasing their creative ideas and unique designs at the event held under the theme 'Momentum,' the young designers received standing ovations from the crowd.

Through a 16-week collaborative effort by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), and local residents, 944 Street in Basmane was redesigned in line with children’s dreams. 

A collaborative project between IUE Interior Architecture and Environmental Design students and the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has sparked a social transformation in the Pazaryeri neighborhood. Redesigned based on the needs of local residents and children, the 944 Dead-End has been transformed into a brand-new "Play Street" and is now ready to open its doors.

Organized by the TÜBİTAK Science and Society Directorate, the “TÜBİTAK Science Centers Exhibition Design Competition” aims to encourage university students (undergraduate and graduate) to develop innovative exhibition solutions that transform scientific concepts into interactive and tangible experiences.

Additionally, the competition seeks to promote an interdisciplinary work culture and to provide science centers with unique, practical exhibition units.

Participants are expected to design a comprehensive exhibition layout consisting of at least 1 and no more than 5 exhibition units within a 50 m² space.
