im2026 | Interior Architecture Students Project Competition

Organized annually by the UCTEA Chamber of Interior Architects, the 9th edition of the Interior Architecture Students Project Competition, im2026, is hosted this year by Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture. The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2026.

Aim of the Competition The aim of this competition is to bring together the projects of students from Interior Architecture / Interior Architecture and Environmental Design departments at the end of each academic year; create a communication platform for academics and students; strengthen the professional identity of interior architecture students; provide a meaningful goal for their education and professional lives; and contribute to elevating the quality of studio projects within undergraduate interior architecture education.

Scope of the Competition The "im2026 Interior Architecture Students Project Competition" is a three-stage national project competition aimed at students enrolled in Interior Architecture / Interior Architecture and Environmental Design departments across Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, evaluating studio projects developed throughout undergraduate education. The competition is based on the evaluation of projects produced by interior architecture students during the 2025–2026 Academic Year in design studios and furniture/lighting design courses.

Competition Schedule

• Announcement of Competition: October 13, 2026

• Inquiry Period: October 19–30, 2026

• Project Submission Deadline: November 15, 2026

• Preliminary Evaluation: November 16–29, 2026

• 1st Stage Jury Evaluation: December 07–13, 2026

• 2nd Stage Jury Evaluation: December 21–27, 2026

• 3rd Stage Jury Evaluation: January 04–10, 2027

• Award Ceremony, Digital Exhibition, and Colloquium: January 29, 2027

Awards and Publication In the "im Interior Architecture Students Projects" (im2026) competition, three "Achievement Awards" and three "Honorable Mentions" will be granted per category. All participants who pass the preliminary round as well as award recipients will receive a certificate; recipients of the "Achievement Award" and "Honorable Mention" will also receive a cash prize.

Prizes to be awarded for each category:

• First Prize: 20,000 TL

• Second Prize: 13,500 TL

• Third Prize: 10,000 TL

• Honorable Mention (3 Awards): 7,000 TL

All awarded projects will be featured in a digital competition book published by Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, Department of Interior Architecture, and the UCTEA Chamber of Interior Architects, and will be presented to the public via a digital exhibition.

To be eligible to receive their cash prizes, continuing students must be members of İÇMO GENÇ, and graduates of the 2025–2026 academic term must be registered members of the UCTEA Chamber of Interior Architects.
